FIT Words, the official school writing club, is having our first guest speaker of the semester!
Aside from being one of the many talented English teachers here at FIT, Cara Cannella is also a writer, editor, researcher, and event moderator. She has been a researcher for publications such as The Atlantic Monthly, Vogue, Vanity Fair, and is also a contributing editor to the Penguin Random House site Biographile where she covers biography and memoir across publishers.
She also really enjoys writing about boats, art, and food.
So, come to room B304 (Business and Liberal Arts Building) during common hour from 1-2 pm and enjoy free coffee and snacks (psst, I’ll be bringing pumpkin spice cookies!) while getting to interact with a professional in the writing field!

Moon man.
He’ll give you breathing holes
And you’ll think you’re happy
Based on a Brothers Grimm fairy tale entitled “The Girl Without Hands.”
At one point, the girl has her hands cut off by her father, and in order to remain pure, she cries on the wounds in order to clean them.
